Nancy Everett is an Atlanta artist working primarily in oil and pastel. Bold, rhythmic use of color is what she uses to capture the mood or feeling of her subject. Exploration of color remains the single most important thing that influences her subject matter selection and for that reason her work is considered impressionistic in style. Landscapes are her favorite subject, but she also enjoys painting figures and animals.
Her work may be seen in her Alpharetta studio and also circulates among an ever changing list of venues including The Flint Gallery at Panoply in Newnan, Trinity School’s Spotlight on Art, The Atlanta Artist Center, Art Station and other juried shows throughout the southeast. She has participated in a number of Atlanta garden tour events as a plein air artist painting in the garden including the High Museum of Arts Artful Garden Tour, the Dunwoody Garden Tour, and Avondale in Bloom. Nancy was just selected to be an Artist in Residence this July at the Tin Shop Guest Artist Program in Breckinridge, Colorado.
Nancy attended the University of Georgia, where she majored in art and graduated with a BFA. Her most memorable and life changing experience during her studies at UGA was being selected to participate in the UGA Studies Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy, where she was surrounded by centuries of art and a culture that embraced it. This gave Nancy a new appreciation for observing her surroundings and was the start of a journey of learning and appreciating art that she continues today.
Nancy moved to Atlanta as a child and through the years has lived in 5 different metro Atlanta counties. Currently, she resides in South Forsyth County.
